The Redmi 13C 5G arrives just six months after the Redmi 12C, but it comes with some significant changes. Among these changes is 5G connection, making this smartphone Xiaomi’s most affordable 5G offering in the entry-level to budget sector. Other improvements to the CPU and more have been made in comparison to the Redmi 12C, as highlighted in our first impressions. Xiaomi has also released a 4G version of its new ‘Redmi 13C’ model.

The Redmi 13C 5G will come in three RAM and storage configurations. In India, the 4GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 9,999, the 6GB + 128GB variant costs Rs.11,499, and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs.13,499. The Startrail Silver, Startrail Green, and Starlight Black models are available in two colors.

The Redmi 13C (4G model) will also come in three RAM and storage configurations. In India, the 4GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 7,999, the 6GB + 128GB variant costs Rs. 8,999, and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs. 10,499. The model is available in two colors: Stardust Black and Star Shine Green.

The Redmi 13C 4G edition will be available in India beginning December 12, while the Redmi 13C 5G will be available beginning December 16 on Amazon, the Mi online shop, and other online retailers.

The Redmi 13C Specifications & Features

The Redmi 13C 4G model has comparable specs. It boasts a 6.74-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixel) LCD dot drop display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and runs MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13. The phone has a three-slot SIM card tray, with two slots for Nano SIM cards and one for a microSD card. The 4G variant, on the other hand, is powered by the same MediaTek Helio G85 SoC as the Redmi 12C. This variant is available with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage.

The Redmi 13C, unlike the 5G variant, has a triple rear camera arrangement that includes a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a third camera for capturing depth data. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a brighter f/2.0 aperture takes selfies.

The Redmi 13C, like the 5G variant, is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W charging, however it will only come with a 10W charger. The phone also supports 4G bands and dual standby. There’s dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, compatibility for the standard GPS systems, a 3.5mm headphone connector, and a USB Type-C connection.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC and comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.

In terms of imaging, the rear camera configuration has two cameras, one of which is accessible to the user. A 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a second camera for obtaining depth data while utilizing Portrait mode are included. A 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture is placed in a U-shaped (dot drop) notch at the top of the display to take selfies.

The phone has a 5,000mAh battery however, unlike the previous generation, now supports 18W charging. However, Xiaomi only includes a 10W charger in the package, requiring users to purchase the 18W charger separately. Xiaomi does not provide an official IP classification for this gadget, instead stating that it is splash resistant and dust resistant. The phone supports several 5G bands (SA: n1/n3/n5/n8/n28/n40/n78, NSA: n1/n3/n40/n78/n8) as well as dual standby.
